The benefits of placing hands with affection on the head of an orphan

عن أبي الدرداء رضي الله عنه قال: أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم رجل يشكو قسوة قلبه فقال صلى الله عليه وسلم أتحب أن يلين قلبك وتدرك حاجتك ؟ ارحم اليتيم وامسح رأسه وأطعمه من طعامك يلن قلبك وتدرك حاجتك
صحيح الجامع Meaning:
On the authority of Abu al-Darda’, may Allahu tawala be pleased with him, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allahu tawala bless him and grant him peace, complaining of the hardness of his heart. So he صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Do you want your heart to be soft and your need to be met? Have mercy on the orphan, place ( your hands ) with affection on his head, and feed him from your food, and your heart will be soft and your need will be met.”
