Chapter: Dua ( الدعاء)


Dua is an Arabic word. Its meaning is to seek something. According to Islamic Shariyah the meaning of dua is to seek something to Allah jalla jalaaluhu.
Some rules to make dua:
1. At the beginning of dua, say some words regarding the praise of Allah jalla jalaaluhu. Then send darud towards the messenger of Allah jalla jalaaluhu.
2. Make dua attentively.
3. You will believe that Allahu tawala will accept your dua.
4. During dua you will raise your hands and you will keep the iiner parts of your hands to the face.
5. You will make dua until you get your desired asking.
6. You will dua secretly and potilely.
7. You will try to make dua during good time and in good places.
8. It is suitable to make dua when you are in a state of wudu.
9. You will try to make dua when you are towards Kaba.
Importace to make dua:
Allahu tawala said in the Suratul Gaafir,
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ
Meaning: And your Lord said: "And ask Me for anything I will respond to your asking. Verily! Those who are arogant about My worship, they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!"
So Allahu tawala said to seek to Him and He promised that He will accept the dua. Dua itself is a prayer. If somebody makes the dua that are described in the Quran and the hadis is appreciable and accepted. But one can make dua in his own language and he can also seek something to Allahu tawala which are permissible in the Islam.

Only Allahu tawala can remove poverty

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ مَنْ نَزَلَتْ بِهِ فَاقَةٌ فَأَنْزَلَهَا بِالنَّاسِ لَمْ تُسَدَّ فَاقَتُهُ وَمَنْ نَزَلَتْ بِهِ فَاقَةٌ فَأَنْزَلَهَا بِاللَّهِ فَيُوشِكُ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِرِزْقٍ عَاجِلٍ أَوْ آجِلٍ
قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ ‏
Meaning:
Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "Whoever faces poverty and expresses it to the people, his poverty will not end. And whoever faces poverty and expresses it to Allah, Allah will send provisions to him, sooner or later."

Dua for uttering in the morning


عَنْ اَبِيْ مَالِكٍ اَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ قَالَ اِذَا اَصْبَحَ اَحَدُ كُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ اَصْبَحْنَا وَاَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْءَلُكَ خَيْرَ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ فَتْحَهٗ وَنَصْرَهٗ وَنُوْرَهٗ وَبَرَكَتَهٗ وَهُدَاهٗ وَاَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيْهِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهٗ ثُمَّ اِذَا اَمْسَي فَلْيَقُلْ مِثْلَ ذٰلِكَ – رواه ابو داؤد

Meaning:
Abu Malik (R) narrated the messenger of Allah صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ said when any of you wake up in the morning let him utter we reached in the morning and the kingdom reached in the morning for Allah jalla jalaaluhu. Hi Allah! I ask to you the wellbeing of this day - its victory, its assistance, its light, its blessings and its guidance and I seek shelter the harm which is in this day and the harm after it. Then when the evening arrives let him say similar.

Dua

Duya to make correct the deeds of the religion, worldly life and the life hereafter

وَعَنْ اَبِيْ هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ يَقُوْلُ اَللّٰهُمَّ اَصْلِحْ لِيْ دِيْنِيَ الَّذِيْ هُوَ عِصْمَةُ اَمْرِيْ وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ دُنْيَا يَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَاشِيْ وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ اٰخِرَتِيَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَادِيْ وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيٰوةَ زِيَادَةًلِّيْ فِيْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ وَّاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِّيْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ-رواه مسلم

Meaning: And narrated from Abu Hurairah, Rasulullah صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ said that O Allah make my deeds of my religion correct and make my worldly life correct in which is my livelihood and make my life of hereafter correct where is my return and extend my life in every good deed and make my death the way to get red of every bad thing. (Narration from Muslim )

The duya is mentioned in the below with pronunciation:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَصْلِحْ لِيْ دِيْنِيَ الَّذِيْ هُوَ عِصْمَةُ اَمْرِيْ وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ دُنْيَا يَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَاشِيْ وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ اٰخِرَتِيَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَادِيْ وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيٰوةَ زِيَادَةًلِّيْ فِيْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ وَّاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِّيْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ-

Pronunciation: Allahumma! Aslihlee deene yallajee huwa esmatu amree wa aslihlee dunya yallatee feehaa mayaashee wa aslihlee aakhirate yallatee feehaa mayaadee waj 'alil hayaata jhiyaada tallee fee kulli khairio waj alil mauta raahatalli fee kulli sharrin

Dua for uttering in the morning


عَنْ اَبِيْ مَالِكٍ اَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ قَالَ اِذَا اَصْبَحَ اَحَدُ كُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ اَصْبَحْنَا وَاَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْءَلُكَ خَيْرَ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ فَتْحَهٗ وَنَصْرَهٗ وَنُوْرَهٗ وَبَرَكَتَهٗ وَهُدَاهٗ وَاَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيْهِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهٗ ثُمَّ اِذَا اَمْسَي فَلْيَقُلْ مِثْلَ ذٰلِكَ – رواه ابو داؤد

Meaning:
Abu Malik (R) narrated the messenger of Allah صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ said when any of you wake up in the morning let him utter we reached in the morning and the kingdom reached in the morning for Allah jalla jalaaluhu.  Dua to get the love of Allah

Duya for not being fallen in any trouble

وَعَنْ اَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ اَبِيْ يَقُوْلُ قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلّٰي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَّقُوْلُ فِيْ صُبَاحِ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَّ مَسَاءِ كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهٖ شَيْءٌ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ثَلٰثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَيَضُرَّهٗ شَيْءٌ فَكَانَ اَبَانُ قَدْ اَصَابَهٗ طَرَفُ فَالَجٍ فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَنْظُرُ اِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهٗ اَبَانُ مَّا تَنْظُرُ اِلَيَّ اَمَا اِنَّ الْحَدِيْثَ كَمَا حَدَّثْتُكَ وَلٰكِنِّيْ لَمْ اَقُلْهُ يَوْمَيِذٍ لِّيُمْضِيَ اللهُ عَلَيَّ قَدَرَهٗ-( رواه الترمذي وابن ماجه وابو داود) وفي روايته لَمْ تُصِبْهُ فُجَاءَةُ بَلَاءٍ حَتّٰي يُصْبِحَ وَمَنْ قَالَهَا حِيْنَ يُصْبِحَ لَمْ تُصِبْهُ فُجَاءَةُ بَلَاءٍ حَتّٰي يُمْسِيَ

Meaning: Hazrat Aban Ibne Osman (R) said I heard from my father say that Rasulullah ( صَلّٰي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ ) narrated that One who says in the morning and in the evening three times - “In the name of Allah with whose name nothing in the earth and in the sky can do harm. And He is all-hearing and all-knowing” – then nothing can do harm to him. Next Rabi said that Aban was in paralysis. So the listener looked at him. Then Aban said that are you looking at me? Surely the hadis that I narrated exactly that. But I did not practise this duya on that day, then Allah imposed on me what was in my destiny before.

The duya is mentioned in the below with pronunciation:

- بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهٖ شَيْءٌ فِي الْاَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ

Pronunciation: Bismillaahillajee laa yadurru maasmihee shaiyun fil ardi wa laa fissamaayi wahuwassameeyul aleem”

Dua when going out of the house

عن أنس رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏‏من قال-يعني إذا خرج من بيته-‏:‏ بسم الله توكلت على الله، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله ، يقال له‏:‏ هديت وكفيت ووقيت، وتنحى عنه الشيطان‏
Meaning:
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) said, "Whoever says (upon leaving his house): 'Bismillaahi, tawakkaltu 'alallaahi, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billah [I begin with the Name of Allah; I depend on Allah; there is no altering of conditions but by the Power of Allah],' it will be said to him: 'You are guided, defended and protected.' The devil ( الشيطان‏) will go far away from him".

Seek from some states
