عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:
«يَعْقِدُ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَى قَافِيَةِ رَأْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ إِذَا هُوَ نَامَ ثَلاَثَ عُقَدٍ يَضْرِبُ كُلَّ عُقْدَةٍ عَلَيْكَ لَيْلٌ طَوِيلٌ، فَارْقُدْ، فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ، انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ، فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ، فَإِنْ صَلَّى انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ، فَأَصْبَحَ نَشِيطًا طَيِّبَ النَّفْسِ، وَإِلَّا أَصْبَحَ خَبِيثَ النَّفْسِ كَسْلاَنَ -

Meaning:
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah
be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “The devil ties three knots at the back of the head of any one of you when he sleeps, striking each knot, saying, ‘A long night awaits you. So go to sleep. If he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot will be undone. If he performs ablution, another knot will be undone. If he performs salah, another knot will be undone, and the next morning, ( he will be ) active and good-natured, otherwise he will become evil-natured and lazy .
