Meaning:
Abu Huraira reported the Messenger of Allah ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) as saying,
The mosques have pegs ( The persons who go to the mosques regularly are like pegs ). the angels sit with them; if they are absent, they ( the angels ) look for them; if they are sick, they visit them, and if they are in need, they help them.
Then he ( the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) said: Sitting in the mosque causes to achieve 3 benefits: They meet such a brother for whom he gets the benefit regarding the religion
or ( he can hear ) the words that is wise or ( he gets ) a blessing for which ( he ) is waiting.
Meaning:
On the authority of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: “The person who eats onions, garlic, and leeks, let him not approach our mosque, as the angels get pain by what the children of Adam get pain."
Sahih
Sahih Al-Bukhari - 855
Annotation:
This restriction is applicable when a person comes to the mosque after consuming raw onions or raw garlic or raw leek. It is makruh. Because the bad smell of these causes pain for the angels. We should remember that this restriction is not considered as haram. It is makruh. But if a person comes to the mosque after eating cooked garlic or cooked onions, there is no restriction coming to the mosque. This is because there is no bad smell when garlic, onions or leek are cooked.
